If they leave you, let them. Never try to convince someone to be with you. Do not convince them to like you, to love you, to be nice to you, to stay with you. Because if you do it once, you will have to keep doing it over and over again to get them to stay. The constant push-pull will wreak havoc on your self-esteem and you will start to devalue yourself little by little.
